De Margaretha Hoeve boasts a rich history that dates back more than 240 years. While the current form of the company was officially founded in 1990 by the Van der Vorm family, the tradition of horse breeding and equestrian sports on this estate spans over two centuries. Under the Van der Vorm family, the estate became renowned for its focus on horse breeding, sport, and trade at the highest level. 

In 2005, Eric Berkhof, CEO of the Van Mossel Automotive Group, took over the stud farm. With respect for its rich history and traditions, he introduced a modern vision to De Margaretha Hoeve. Under his leadership, the breeding of quality mares, the selection of promising young horses, and the pursuit of top-level sporting achievements have been further refined. Horse trading remains a vital aspect of the business, contributing to the continuous improvement of both breeding and sporting elements.

Home of the Van Mossel Team

De Margaretha Hoeve provides the Van Mossel Team with a home where quality and professionalism come together. This modern facility is designed to optimally support horses and riders in their training and performance. The spacious indoor arena of 70x35 metres offers all possibilities for varied training, while the 550-metre galloping track is ideal for conditioning. Additionally, the estate features a 60x150-metre jumping arena, equipped with both standard and natural obstacles, perfect for preparing for a wide range of competitions. 

In addition to these training opportunities, the facility offers three horse walkers and two lunging circles, providing horses with extra movement and variety. For specialised training, there is a professional loose-jumping area and a large jumping arena at the entrance to the stud. Everything is designed to keep the horses in peak condition and take their performance to the next level.

De Margaretha Hoeve is equipped with 72 permanent stables, 36 of which are exclusively reserved for the Van Mossel Team. The remaining stables are available for guests receiving professional guidance at the Hoeve and for broodmares. Additionally, there are twelve spacious loose boxes where up to 100 young horses can be housed. These modern facilities make the Hoeve not only a training location but also a place for breeding and raising top-quality horses.
